This revolutionary MINIUM series heli is a breakthrough in the
micro helicopter market. It's a technologically advanced, full-function
rc model - micro helicopter. With all the function of a full-size heli, the
CALIBER 120 is the first production micro-size helicopter to feature
cyclic control, made possible by a 4-channel radio, a genuine
Bell-Hiller rotor control system, and a factory installed gyro. Many
other small helicopters only have tail-rotor and motor control to
govern side-to-side and vertical movement, but this sophisticated
machine uses a swash plate with a stabilizer and main rotor to allow
hovering, left/right, up/down and forward/backward movement to recreate
a breathtakingly real helicopter flying experience.
Optimal
use of carefully tested materials result in a strong structure weighing
only 30g, which translates into superior flight characteristics and
keeps damage to a minimum in the event of a crash. The durable main
rotor can take hard contact and offers a far more rewarding flying
experience compared to toy helicopters. The Caliber 120 comes
completely pre-assembled from the factory. With pre-flight setting
adjustments complete, simply insert eight AA-size batteries in the
transmitter and you're ready to go. The transmitter features a built-in
charger to charge the on-board Li-Po battery, so you don't need to
carry around any extra support equipment ? simply charge the battery
pack and you?re ready to take off from anywhere in the house or office.
Imagine hovering and touching down on the coffee table! The CALIBER 120
is much more than flying a machine, it is an opportunity to experience
the fascination of full-scale helicopter control!
- Completely
assembled Readyset includes newly developed 4-channel 2.4GHz KT-20
radio control system and special Lithium Polymer battery pack.
- Automatically
scans for open frequencies across a 75-wave spectrum on the 2.4GHz band
for ultra-safe control. Up to 25 aircraft or helicopters can be flown
at the same time.
- Connects automatically once transmitter is registered to the receiver. (Comes pre-registered at time of shipment).
- Transmitter features new design built-in antenna that delivers more effective signal emission.
- Display shows values of the 19-step digital trim settings which are also indicated with tone signals.
- Transmitter can be paired and used with 2nd or even 3rd Minium aircraft.
- Advanced design features two special servos, receiver, motor control amp and gyro in an ultra lightweight structure.
- Cored motor delivers the necessary torque for the main rotor while a coreless motor produces optimal response from the tail.
- Transmitter features built-in quick battery charger that can be used while the transmitter is used for flight control.
- Chose Mode I or Mode II flight styles, which is shown on the display.
- Push in the elevator stick to turn Expert Mode ON/OFF to use the dual-rate function for adjusting the aileron and rudder angle.
- Transmitter can be used with both the MINIUM AD airplane or helicopter series. **Cannot be used with 3-channel MINIUM airplane.
- Swash
plate mechanism enables control movement around the roll and pitch
axis, just like large size helicopters. Inclusion of gyro also provides
sure control of the tail.
- Lightweight structure optimizes strength and flexibility to realize an easy-to- fly, robust and convenient machine.
- Transmitter
also features built-in battery charger. Connect to the Li-Po battery
with the charger cable and the charger cuts out automatically when
battery is fully charged. Charger function can be used while operating
as transmitter.
- Caliber 120
- There are several characteristics on the Caliber 120 that you should
be aware of. They are normal and can be improved if the following
recommendations are followed. Read all of the following notes as they
relate to each other. As a staring point it is important to keep in
mind this helicopter performs best in a very still environment. Flying
in a room with significant air movement (A/C) can make the helicopter
difficult to control.
- Tail Rotor Wag
- It is normal for the tail rotor to was slightly. This condition will
be worse if the helicopter has any vibration because the gyro is set to
a high gain to keep the tail under control. (Major source of vibration
is main blades are either too loose or too tight) With a fresh battery
charge it may also be more pronounced.
- Tail Control
- With a full battery charge, if the throttle is changed aggressively,
either to climb or descend, the gyro can overcompensate. When the
battery becomes low on charge the helicopter will still hover however,
the tail rotor may not be able to keep up with the torque changes even
if you are giving an input. For optimum enjoyment it is important to
keep good batteries in the transmitter so it will fully charge the
flight battery.
- Battery Charging
- If the transmitter shows a voltage below 5.1 volts a full charge
cannot be achieved in the helicopter battery. With a fresh set of
alkaline batteries it is normal to get between 6 to 8 recharges of the
helicopter battery. When using NiMH batteries it is normal to get 3 to
4 recharges if they are freshly charged.
- Helicopter Wobble
- If the helicopter wobbles in flight this is caused by the main rotor
blades being too loose. They should be tight enough that it takes light
pressure to make them move. If they are too tight they will not find
center. The best way to be sure they pull out straight is to hold the
helicopter in your hand and move the throttle up to full power and then
back to 0. This should center the blades. If you feel vibration in the
machine during this procedure they may be too tight. Look at the blades
and visually see if they appear to be straight across from each other.
By doing this the helicopter will be perfectly smooth and hover better
which makes the gyro work more efficient.
- Fully assembled helicopter complete with basic setting adjustments.
- 3.7V-150mAh Lithium Polymer battery pack
- 2.4GHz band 2-stick transmitter (built-in charger) with digital trims
- Training safety bar
- 4 x AA-size alkaline batteries for transmitter
