The F-4 Phantom II was designed as a fleet defense fighter for the U.S.
Navy, and first entered service in 1960. By 1963, it had been adopted
by the U.S. Air Force for the fighter-bomber role. When production
ended in 1981, 5,195 Phantom IIs had been built, making it the most
numerous American supersonic military aircraft.
Its compact size means that the F4 can travel complete and is ideal for
those quick sorties on the way home or at weekends. Powered by a 64mm
internal ducted fan with brushless motor and lipo battery it is the
perfect model for intermediate to expert pilots. Landing gear can be
easily moved for those looking for more speed and hand launch
capabilities using the moulded grip. All we suggest is a little bit of
glass cloth to protect the lower lip on the intakes.
Take to the skies with one of the Cold Wars best known icons. The F-4
was a stalwart of the Vietnam War and was widely used throughout the
60's and 70's. This faithfully reproduced foam model from Top Gun
captures all the scale detailing and finish of both the military and
Blue Angels Aerobatic team schemes.
