A-1 Skyraider 6 CH Radio Control (RC) Warbird (1.6m) - ARF.

The A-1 Skyraider RC War-bird is a large scale model and the attention to detail is amazing. All the decals are already in place and it really does look the part. Striking colours, highly detailed accessories, 90 degrees rotating servo-less retracts and its large size - it has a 1600mm wingspan, yes that's 1.6 m - are just a few of the features packed into this model.

The massive scale makes the A-1 a stunning model airplane, makes it more stable than smaller models and easier to control, even in windy conditions.

What does ARF mean? ARF stands for almost ready to fly, an ARF model has the motor, ESC and servos installed, the package includes battery and charger, but is missing the receiver and transmitter - this plane requires a 6ch radio equipment available as one of the options above.

The A-1 Skyraider RC plane takes its power from 600kv outrunner motor connected to 80A ESC and powerful 14.8V 3200mAh lipo battery. This power unit allows you to fly the War-bird for 15 min per charge. The A-1 is constructed of EPO flex foam for excellent impact resistance. The model has working drop-hinge flaps and air brakes adding to the realism of the replica plane and the ability to slow down the landing, just like the full-scale plane.

The prototype of the Skyraider was first flown on 18 March 1945. Designed as a robust, multi-role attack aircraft for the US Navy, the carrier-based Skyraider was able to carry a wide variety of weapons on its numerous wing hard points. The Skyraider first saw combat in the Korean War, where its long loiter time and heavy load-hauling capability gave it a distinct utility advantage over the jet aircraft of the time.During the 1960s, the AD-x designations were changed to A-1D through A-1J. The A-1 series was operated with enormous success during the Vietnam War, where it was used in the Ground Attack, Forward Air Control, and Search and Rescue roles. The AD-6 and AD-7 were used by the French Armee de l'Air in Algeria.
